Research work continues at different universities to check the possibility of accidents for sending SMS while driving, here is what happened at University of Utah. 40 college aged people were taken for the research, to find out the test reaction every time they send a message while driving. Not, surprisingly the research proved that the accident rate increases enormously when people send a message while driving.
Driving performance gets negative impact while texting when you are on run, the negative impact exceeds the impact of conversation on a cell phone or with a fellow passenger behind him/her while driving. The students were allowed to use their own cell phone while driving as they are most familiar with their own handsets. Research found that conversation on call splits the focus between two tasks, but when messaging the focus shifts to one or the other. So the risk factor is very high when messaging. However, free mobile apps like DriveSafe.ly should help students as the apps reads out the text messages and emails while you are on drive.
